Kids in the Kitchen!

Letting kids help may slow us down, but maybe that's the point!
I am guilty of it - I am a "just let me do it" kind of mom, in an effort to get it done quickly and without the mess. I am particular about things and I like things my way (š¬), but what is that teaching my kids if I never let or ask them to help me? When I do let them help me in the kitchen, I feel like we have so much fun together!! It is also teaching them to be helpful!
It is a process and I am working hard to slow down, enjoy the time with my kids, not worry about the mess and let them have fun.
Here are a few kid friendly items we keep in our kitchen to encourage them to help with meals and cooking š§āš³.
Do you also have a little kitchen helper that is always wanting to help prepare meals and help with baking??
Our daughter has always been interested in helping in the kitchen! We usually just do baking or very simple tasks, which teach her about measuring and following recipes.
For Christmas we gifted her a kids kitchen tool set, which includes aprons, cutting boards, kid safe knives, a chopper and a few shape cutouts. Obviously, these should all be used under adult supervision, but every tool is child safe. I have added the link below!

We also reall love a good Uncrustable sandwich!! These cutters from Amazon not only save us money on buying boxes of Uncrustables (because if you think about it, you're paying a pretty high price for bread, peanut butter and jelly - all inexpensive items), but they are easy to use and the kids love helping to make their own sandwiches! PB&J isn't the only sandwich filling option - these also work with most deli meat and cheese sandwiches!
**The PB&J ones also freeze well - just cut, wrap in parchment and layer in a ziplock bag!
